Hans KnotHi everybody. This is the second report of the month of May. I started compiling it on May 1st. A bright welcome to a lot of new readers, including again some former offshore deejays, with whom I contacted once again. First of all Nico Steenbergen, who was one of the original Driemaster Team members of the famous liveprogram from MEBO II (started1971). Only the last year the show was prerecorded in the studio’s in Naarden. The same place where the Dutch Service of RNI recorded a lot of their programs.

Hans KnotAt the time of writing it’s April Fools Day and one joke I want to mention is the one done by the Radio 192 team. They did sent out by e mail messages that the name of the station would be renamed into Radio Mi Amigo. Indeed in the afternoon good old Peter van Dam was on the air but this time not with the regular Radio 192 jingles but old Mi Amigo jingles. Fun for a short moment!

First of all, while I was making inquiries for one of the chapters of the forthcoming book ‘The wet and wild history of Radio Caroline’ (which will be out late autumn 2004) I  found two nicknames we didn’t mention before. First one is Johnny ‘The Herdsman’ Lewis on Radio Caroline. Who gave him this name and why? Answers can be given to Dit e-mailadres wordt beveiligd tegen spambots. Hans KnotHi all out there in wonderful radio world. Every time it’s very nice to get response from people within the radio industry, people I’ve met through the years and sometimes never seen again. One of them I did met once, way back in, I think it was 1985. Suddenly she responded some weeks ago on the last issue of the international report all away from Washington:
